I have been a fan of Journey’s since they started, but when I heard them w/Arnel I have to say I was totally blown away. I believe that he is the best singer I have ever heard in my lifetime. Arnel sings with more emotion and heart than I have ever heard anyone sing. I just recently lost my mother who was also my bestfried we were very close. Journey, come back to Toledo! My first Journey concert was the summer of 1980 at the Toledo Sports Arena. 29 years later the sports arena is gone, but, "believe what I say", I am still a huge Journey fan! We saw you several years ago at an outdoor concert along the Maumee River. The concert was absolutely fantastic! And it brought back so many memories from the 70's and 80's. Please set a date for Toledo…we are waiting with "Open Arms".

On August 26, 2009, my wife and I watched the Journey in concert at the Ohio State University in Columbus. There new lead singer Arnel Pineda was sensationally awesome! He possesses amazing energy and power on stage along with Deen (Drummer), and of course along with the rest of the band members. I hope they continue to rock great music.

The last time I saw Arnel was when he was with AMO band performing at the Chatterbox and California Jam, Olongapo City, PHilippines. I watched Arnel almost every night for about 3 years. Arnel you have a nice voice and this note is not directed to you. I understand why you selected another singer because you wanted to keep doing what you love to do, but when you are performing without Steve Perry, it's like watching and listening to a Tribute band. You, (meaning Steve Perry and everyone in the band except Arnel) have aged gifts and talent. We want some new songs laced with your age and wisdom, and some of the originals songs with some genuine improvisations. We really wish you would have waited for Steve Perry. Journey isn't Journey without Steve Perry. Please get Steve Perry back with Journey. Steve Perry, please reunite with Journey if singing and writing is your heart's desire. to all those trashing arnel pineda, hes awesome "look into the future" steve perry's voice was shot years ago, he was really straining on the trial by fire album. the biggest debate with arnel seems to be his nationality, not his voice. about all the negative comments , i dont remember seeing any of you audition for journey. and i dont think you could handle the pressure arnel has, with the grace he has shown. s.t.f.u. thanks arnel, for helping keep journey going.

If the Order of the Divine Providence was to bring together AP, NS, JC, DC and RS to become the new face of The Journey…no one can put this great band down. They have rolled with the punches of yesteryears and now they are reborn from the ass heap;and they need to keep the legacy alive…

I love the chemistry of the band when they are on stage. It was pure and genuine togetherness in their own unique expression of their musicality. The respect that they give to each other while performing is undeniably present.

And the legend of The Journey lives on through their music as well as in the heart of those who understand the chemistry of the group. It is simply amazing to watch all of them on stage.

I watched the new Journey at the Super Bowl Pregame Show, and it’s unbelievable, a Filipino front man has tenor altino voice that even surpasses the orignal front man Steve Perry. Although Journey was formed in 1973 as a back up group for established artists in Bay Area, I started being a number 1 fan of Journey only in 1977 when Steve Perry got his public debut. Since then i am their avid follower, Jonathan Cain (keyboard) joined them in 1980, Ross Valory (bass) rejoined in 1995 and Deen Castronovo in 1998. Go Journey and again you will be my number 1 band.

My daughter Cierra is a singer, and has loved this music since she was 2. This is her generation of Journey, and the teenagers love it. I will admit that I was disappointed with arrival and generations as they are really weak albums (think def leppard`s slang) but revelation is a return to the sound I loved for so long. I saw them perform in Sturgis SD in 06 and have to say it was a great show and am hoping they return near here in the next tour.

But folks PLEASE, all this Journey isnt Journey without Steve?? There have been many members come and go over the years. If not for Neal and Ross you wouldnt even have any original members. Many forget that Gregg Rolie and Robert Fleischman did the singing early on when it all started. It took me as a fan a while to get used to John Cain. And, dont forget the many other guys that have come and gone.

Heres my thought, why doesnt Steve contact ex-members and create another Journey. They could tour the world separately, split all the royalties! LOL Heck with Randy Jacksons new found celebrity status they may even draw bigger crowds! lol

Although Steve created Journey voice legacy, he is old now to still sound as great as he did back in his early days. Compare to someone over ten years younger, those high notes he was hitting will be a lot harder for him now. Journey is lucky to have Arnel as Arnel is lucky to be be able to become a member of the band. All you sore losers did not complain when Steve Augery and Jeff Scott Sotto were fronting the band whom both were not able to take the band back up to the level of fame which Journey is having now. Steve Perry was great, in the 70's. If you listen to his songs from them, NOW, he sang through his nose and had no flair, no character. All the ladies saw was what they considered to be a cute guy. Guys saw him as a role model, someone they wished they could be………I prefered Steve Augerie, but Arnel is alright. We can hear him because his looks don't get in the way, he sounds much better than he looks. Journey music, the lyrics and the beat collectively ARE Journey. They have definitely withstood the test of time.

I've been into rock music since the early 70's but I'm more into a kind of melodic rock (something like Boston which has a heavier sound) and I consider Journey's music melodic. If you listen to the re-recorded songs in the Revelation the songs are much, much better and heavier with Arnel's voice and Deen's drumming and of course a heavier guitar sound by Neal Schon. Everyone, listen I am a fan of Journey and really like Steve Perry. But we have to accept the fact and with all due respect, that Steve Perry is old now and does not sound the same as he use to. Besides, would you people watch Journey without Arnel Pineda. He actually saved the band, now people are so intrigued with Arnel's voice that he sound exactly if not better of the young Steve Perry in his time. Thank God Arnel came and Journey is alive again. Arnel has also composed great songs with his old band but I am sure the Band really wants him to sing the old songs so fans would be reminiscing their old songs. Besides all you fan if Arnel starts singing a song that you can't connect with, I am sure you would ask for an encore that he sings an old Journey song. My husband and I have been fans since 1978. We have many albums and still have a vintage concert tshirt or two that is 30 years old. I remember going to one of their concerts in Kansas City in and it was so loud my ears rang for 3 days! We loved Journey with Steve Perry (the voice) and we like the way they sound with the new guy too. Sometimes it is hard to tell them apart, but if you listen closely you can hear the difference. Just seen Journey at Glasgow, Neil is my main man, fantastic to see him in real life, really living his music after listening to journey on C.D's for so long. For me Steve Perry was very much the sound of the group and for me, I missed seeing him. But everything must move on and Arnel has a great voice and had a good presence with the audience at the gig.

Arnel is awesome. It is not a racist thing it is a Steve Perry thing. To many Steve is "The Voice" and always will be. If the band were not named Journey this would not be a discussion which is ironic since Perry was not the original lead singer. Alas, it is what it is. Most know Journey and associate Journey with Perry's voice. Anyway, I enjoy Arnel and loved the concert but it wasn't the same as with Perry.

people just need to ACCEPT: STEVE is GONE! Never coming back except for the possibility of a "night with Steve Perry" where he and Arnel sing together. Steve made his choice and the band as a whole is much better off. Steve was great while he was there but if he was still there, he would be weighing down the group. His voice would not outweigh the difficulty the band had at times working with him. I personally welcome Arnel and shun those who want to make this big deal because he "isn't Steve" Get over yourselves.
